The CM Punjab E-Taxi Scheme 2025 is a forward-looking initiative by the Government of Punjab, aimed at promoting sustainable transport and empowering youth through economic opportunities. In its initial phase, the scheme will distribute 1,100 electric vehicles across the province on interest-free installments. These locally manufactured EVs, including models like the Hon VC20 and VC30 by Dewan Motors, offer a driving range of 200–300 km, fast-charging, and a cost of up to Rs. 6.5 million.

To support these vehicles, the Punjab government is establishing a vast charging station network, starting with Lahore, with plans to install a station every 3 kilometers in major cities. The infrastructure will cater to both electric cars and bikes.

Eligibility criteria include: age between 21–45 years, Punjab domicile, valid driving license, and financial ability to pay installments. Applicants must also have a clean criminal record. Priority will be given to low-income individuals. Required documents include CNIC, driving license, domicile certificate, passport photo, bank statement, and a character certificate.

The application process will be entirely online, with the registration portal launching within 1–2 weeks. Applicants will fill out the form, upload documents, and undergo digital verification. The Bank of Punjab will oversee financial assessments and manage vehicle disbursement.

Overall, this scheme marks a significant step toward eco-friendly transportation, economic upliftment, and green urban development in Punjab. It offers a unique opportunity for individuals to own an EV and contribute to a cleaner future.
